I've neglected this for far too long! So, I'm going to just get caught up to about a week ago for now!
Several weeks ago the
Toulouse-Lautrec museum had a student night, which sounded like a fantastic idea! And it was, in theory. The evening was to begin with a concert followed by a tour of the museum, then refreshments. Unfortunately, we let Charly pick seats in the front row of the auditorium in perfect view of the cameramen documenting the event. The moment the performers started playing their wooden recorders and the pianoforte began the hour long struggle not to burst into laughter or to fall asleep. An hour later we started the tour of the museum, but an hour through that we were starving! It was 9 o'clock so we figured we'd sneak out as we were moving to a different room, when the director of the museum caught us leaving. Fail.

The unbelievable concert |
On the 11th, in celebration of Jussi's birthday we had a fantastic BBQ in an Intermarche shopping cart that had been left behind our houses for who-knows-how-long and stayed out singing along to the spectacular Caitlin "Jane Erasmus" Field play on her guitar. We're definitely going to have to do that again!
On the 14th I went to Toulouse for my OFII medical exam. It was at 10:30am and I wanted to go to
FHE there at 7pm so I decided to make a day of it and walked all over the city. The appointment itself was basically a joke. They took an x-ray of my lungs, asked if I was pregnant or smoked, put a sticker in my passport, and I was on my way! So I spent the day wandering around shops and cathedrals throughout Toulouse, and only getting lost once. I got a couple small gifts, two scarfs, two French books, and a shirt.

Our school had a festival "Complot sur le Campus" promoting environmentalism so they decorated dry toilets to look like different rooms in a home. I only got pictures of two of them, but there was also one decorated like a kitchen and a garage. |
